Vegan and Vegetarian Diets

Vegetarian diets consist mainly of vegetables and other animal-based products like dairy, eggs, cheese, etc, but completely exclude any meats. Vegan diets, however, exclude any and all animal-based products and instead, use alternative plant and seed-based foods to replace dairy, cheese and meats.

Nutrisystem is a very different type of weight loss program. It's essentially a lower-glycemic diet, which provides 50% of calories from carbohydrates, 25% of calories from protein and 25% from fat. You can subscribe to a plan a get the foods delivered to your home, or simply buy the food packages at any supermarket.

Nutrisystem consists of a 28-day plan of prepackaged foods, that include all meals, as well as snacks and desserts. You can also combine certain fruits, vegetables, grains, meat and dairy with prepackaged meals. 

Mayo Clinic Diet

The Mayo Clinic is another highly effective weight loss program to help turn your eating and exercising around. It has two very distinctive phases:

Lose it!
This first step is meant to help you lose the largest amount of pounds while teaching you healthy eating habits. During this two-week phase, you will lose between 6 and 10 pounds.
2. Live it!
This second phase is longer, and you will lose approx. 1 to 2 pounds per week until you reach your goal weight. You will learn expert techniques to keep your weight in check and stay healthier from then onwards.
